But despite that, it was pretty easy to select the best ones to include in this guide.

Why?

Because I have strict criteria on what makes affiliate programs good or bad, and each program on this list has ticked off all the boxes.

#1- Affiliate Program Must Be Trustworthy and Long Standing

I don’t care about joining a program that started today, yesterday or even this time last year.

Instead, as an affiliate marketer, I only look to partner with older programs that most affiliates are happy with.

And so should you.

For example, the HostGator affiliate program is 10+ years old. And even though there are legitimate complaints about it, for the most part, their affiliates are satisfied.

So I know they’re legit and will pay me my commissions as I earn them.

I’m also not a fan of obscure affiliate programs tied to obscure products only a very niche market would ever use.

No, I’m into making big numbers and that can only be achieved with popular products and services that everyone’s using.

#1- High Quality Content is a Must

Helpful content that matches search intent and that gives complete answers to the query is a must for ranking in Google in 2021.

There are only 2 types of content you should produce on your affiliate blog.

• Informational content
• Promotional content (reviews, comparisons, listicles…)

Informational content is one that targets keywords where the search intent of the searcher is to learn something new..

• How to do X;
• what is Y;
•  Why is there …
•  What is the name of…

Those are all informational topics where your blog post and any other content type needs to educate your visitors.

People on your list are hot traffic that will convert at a much higher rate than normal traffic you get from Google and social.

Make sure you regularly promote offers to them, because it’s easy money for you and not pushing affiliate offers is a waste of a good list.

Note: you also need to have a lot of tact. There’s nothing worse than being subscribed to a list where every week you get offered something different to buy, with compelling reasons why you must have it.

3. Podcasts
