Services, also called gigs, vary in price with the cheapest ones starting at $5 (hence the name ‘fiverr’ ), and the most expensive ones capped at $995, without extras.

Dropshipping is a popular business model where an online retailer purchases goods from either the manufacturer or supplier and ships them directly to the customer at a higher price. It is important to bear in mind that although the retailers market the products and accept customer orders, they don’t actually keep the goods in stock. Instead, once the dropshippers receives an order, they give the details of the order and the shipping information to either the manufacturer or supplier, who then ships the goods directly to the customer.
The retailer acts as a middleman, pocketing the difference between the original price and the one they quoted to their customer.
Why Should You Use Fiverr To Build Your Dropshipping Business?
There are several excellent reasons why Fiverr dropshipping is the answer to your profitable dropshipping business.
- First, as I stated earlier, dropshipping as a business model is exploding and the time to enter it is now. There’s huge money to be made and you’re not yet late to the party.

Lucrative as dropshipping is, if you don’t pick your products right; if you don’t build a decent looking branded website; if your video advertisement (that you stitched together) sucks, your store won’t be profitable and you will fail.
- Third, because Fiverr is fast. When you get say, five Fiverr freelancers working for you from day one, that will 5x the speed your store is built at.
Plus it’ll be high quality, professional work especially if you go with Fiverr Pro, which I mentioned earlier.
How To Start a Dropshipping Business Using Fiverr (A 6-Step Tutorial)
Let’s be clear. The key to using Fiverr freelance gigs to start your biz is efficiency.
This means you need to break down your “start a dropshipping business” goal into manageable chunks/steps.
And for each step there will be a different Fiverr freelancer tackling it.
The steps are:
- Decide on the type of store you want to have;
- Pick a winning product to promote;
- Build a website (Shopify stores are best);
- Get a logo;
- Create a video ad;
- Start marketing your new business
Now, let’s break each step in detail, shall we?
Step #1- Deciding on What Kind of a Website You Want To Create
The 3 types of stores are:
- General store – You basically sell everything that has potential.
- Niche store – You sell many products from one category (for example from the makeup niche).
- One product store – You simply sell one winning product.
All 3 store types come with their share of pros and cons, but probably the simplest and the one I recommend is a one product store.
One product stores are easy to create, are a cinch to manage and are best for when you’re just starting out.
Plus they can earn you a fortune if you do the rest of the steps correctly (which is why you’ll be getting help through Fiverr).
Step #2- Pick a Winning Product
Choosing a product to promote is the most important step in getting your nascent dropshipping business off the ground.
Because if you get it wrong, if your product is not something that can sell online, then everything else you do won’t matter . But, if you get it right, then even if you make a mistake with some other part of your business, it’s all easily fixable.
That’s why if you have never done this before (as I suspect you haven’t) it’s important to use an experienced Fiverr pro to help you.
Here’s exactly how.
First, go to Fiverr.com and search for “Shopify product research”
This is going to show you all listings that have those keywords in title and body.
However, not all Fiverr sellers provide equally high quality service. And because picking a winning product is so important you need to filter the results to see only the best gigs Fiverr has to offer.
So, right above the first row of results there will be a header with a list of filters you can apply . I suggest you filter for level 2 sellers and according to your budget (for example $100).
Apply filters and see what you got.
Step #3- Build a Website
After you’ve chosen your winning product, the next step is building a Shopify store.
Shopify is the easiest platform for newbies to get into dropshipping and there are plenty of sellers who’d be more than thrilled to make you one.
So, do another search on Fiverr (“create Shopify store”) and see what you get.
Pro tip: As you browse you’ll notice high discrepancies in pricing. One seller offers to do it for $20, while another asks for $500.
Don’t fall for either. The former is probably baiting you with a small price behind which await a ton of upsells; and the latter’s offer is either seriously overpriced or comes with a ton of additional features, half of which you won’ need.
In my opinion, go for something between $50 and $100 and you’ll end up with a great looking store.
Step #4- Get a Logo
Fiverr is known as a platform where you can get excellent logos for cheap, and not just for your dropshipping business but for all kinds of online ventures.
To find a suitable freelancer simply search for “logo design” and filter the results to get those that best mesh with your budget.
Let’s say you have $25 to dish out on your logo, which is plenty.
Step #5- Create a Winning a Video Ad
Right after choosing the winning product, your video advertisement is the second most important element of your dropshipping campaign.
It’s because your ad is going to be the first thing web users will see as they scroll through their Instagram and Facebook feeds.
Your ad must be eye catching. It must be relevant and professionally done, enticing to the eye and inviting a click.
You need to get a Fiverr freelancer to get it right. Unless you have ample experience with video and photo editing and are willing to spend a couple of hours of your day on creating a 40s video ad.
No?
Please understand. It’s so insanely easy to mess up your ad and then all your work will be for nothing.
To find a suitable ad creator simply search on Fiverr for “dropshipping video ad”.
Next filter the result for level 2 sellers.
Pro tip #1: Use your video ad to market on Instagram pages and with Facebook ads. These two platforms have high user engagement and have historically performed best for dropshippers.
There are other platforms of course, especially Google Adwords, but I advise you to stay away if you don’t have much experience.
Adwords advertising is really expensive compared to Facebook ads, and there are things you need to know and understand to be successful, and it’s almost a guarantee you’ll burn money on your first go…
Pro tip #2: Typically 95%-98% of your store’s traffic will come from mobile devices. Facebook and Instagram users who click on your ad in their feed will want to see a crisp, elegant and professional ad that’s a joy to watch on a mobile device.

Step #6- Marketing Your Business Through Fiverr
Honestly I was on the fence about putting this step here, about including it all.
Why?
Because marketing is a skillset that everyone in this age of the internet should have.
Knowing how to market effectively to people opens up so many doors for you and it’s an indispensable skill to have.
However, I understand that not everyone is a marketing fanatic like I am. I know that some people want to do dropshipping without getting into the weeds of it all and marketing your shop is as much weeds as it gets.
So you need a freelancer, but a really good one.
You’ll be giving this person a budget to spend and you must get a true pro, at least a level 2 seller and maybe even a top rated seller (cream of the crop on Fiverr).
Go and search in Fiverr for “Shopify marketing”
Filter for level 2 sellers and find one with a ton of reviews but who’s fee is something you can afford.
Frequently Asked Questions About Using Fiverr To Start a Dropshipping Business
#1- What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Dropshipping
Advantages of dropshipping:
Easy to start- to start dropshipping you don’t need a big budget. You don’t need to own the product you’re going to sell; and you don’t even need any experience in marketing. Instead, what you need is a small budget to pay Fiverr freelancers to set up your store and a willingness to learn, test and improve until success hits.
Easy to grow- scaling a dropshipping business is nothing more than adding new products to your store and doing stuff that has already worked for you.
Basically, as you grow everything pretty much stays the same except that you earn more and more money. And it gets easier as you improve your processes, calibrate better, and hire additional team members..
Very flexible as a career- as a dropshipper you work from your laptop and from anywhere where there’s (a stable) internet connection. You can also work on your terms and hours without a boss to lord over you.
(Relatively) risk free– since the costs of starting a dropshipping business are so low you only risk losing the money you invested, but that’s usually peanuts.
Also, a “failure” in dropshipping doesn’t necessarily mean you lost money. It could mean that you didn’t find a winning product, but you still recouped your initial investment and made an extra few hundred bucks.
So failure = small win and lots of learning.
Disadvantages of dropshipping:
Very competitive – Because it’s so cheap to start a dropshipping business, it means there’s a lot of competition out there. Though this can be mitigated in part if your Fiverr freelancer finds you untapped and products on the rise, and there are plenty of those in all niches.
Slim margins – this depends more on what products you decide to sell but some products come with very slim margins, so low-ish earning potential.
In other words, to earn a lot of money you’ll have to sell a lot of items, but often that’s not possible because the market and target audience are too small.
You’re not in control – as a dropshipper you order products on behalf of your customers and you’re aren’t responsible for shipping and delivery.
However, If there’s a screw up, delayed delivery or damaged products the customer will hold your store accountable.
They might complain and you’ve just lost that one visitor who might also tell all about their bad experience to their friends.
No chance for quality control – you can’t control the quality of products you ship out so your customer might be getting knock offs, or outdated and fraudulent products which will again reflect badly on your store.
Product shortage– sometimes there will be a lack of product and it’ll cause delays. In those cases you can turn to other suppliers, however working with someone new and on a short notice is a big gamble.
#2- Is Dropshipping Worth it?
I want to give you an unequivocal “YES”, but the truth is that dropshipping will work if you work at it.
If you decide in advance that you’re going to succeed no matter what.
If you learn, try, fail, try again, fail again. and then try anew, then at one point you will run out of mistakes to make and you’ll start to do the right things and success will tail you until it catches you.
Then once you turn your first profit it’ll be as if a veil has been lifted and you will “know” that dropshipping works.
And then there’ll be no stopping you. Here are a few success stories to inspire you to take massive action today.
#3- Where Can I Find Dropshipping Suppliers?
You need to rephrase this question into “where can I find legit dropshipping suppliers?”
You must work with legitimate suppliers because your store’s reputation is on the line. And while you can use Google to find suppliers or directories who’ve screened out fraudulent business, I still suggest you use Oberlo.
Oberlo is a Shopify-exclusive app that lets you import products into your store and ship them directly to your customers.
Note: Oberlo only works with legitimate suppliers, usually found on AliExpress.
#4- How Much Does it Cost To Start a Dropshipping business?
One of the big pros of dropshipping is that it doesn’t require you to have a Fortune 500 budget to get going.
However, it doesn’t mean you can do it for free. Actually, technically you can (see this video for more info) but it’s better not to.
Some of the standard costs are:
• Shopify monthly subscription;
• Domain name;
• Oberlo app and marketing;
I say realistically, a $300-$700 budget is a good start.
Pro tip: Keep in mind that Shopify comes with a 14-day free trial and many apps that you need to use have either free replacements or also boast 2-week free trials.
In fact, the only non-negotiable expenses are your domain name and marketing expenses.
#5- Is Dropshipping Legal?
Yes it is. It’s a thriving business model that’s growing fast as more and more people learn about it.
And it is perfectly legal to sell products that you never owned. You’re just a middle man and your job is to offer a pleasurable shopping experience to web users.
#6- Is Shopify the best Dropshipping platform for beginners
I’m sure that Magento, WooCommerce OpenCart and Big Commerce will strongly disagree, but in my opinion, Shopify is the best platform for beginners starting with e-commerce.
It’s interface is newbie friendly and intuitive, and the platform allows for ample customization. You have hundreds of templates to choose from and you can get free and premium apps to enhance and upgrade pretty much any part of your store.
